"Then Sings My Soul, My Savior God to Thee,
How Great Thou Art, How Great Thou Art!

Normally I use this newsletter to keep you informed on what is going on in the technology industry. But truth is, I have no idea what happened in the computer world this past month because I've spent my time with my ailing father. To those who have been holding my family in prayer, I want to say a big THANK YOU! Dad stepped into heaven on April 23. To those who have received the automatic email response that says I'm out of office, I'm working on catch up. If you don't hear from me within a week, please contact me again.

Dad was a man of faith. He was a hard worker, filled with integrity and had an awesome sense of humor. Here are some of the things he taught me:

Patience is a virtue. Mom is the definition of frugal. To save money, when she made chocolate chip cookies, she would only use half the bag of chocolate chips. Dad taught me that if we waited until Mom went out to the garden, we would have time to dig thru the cookie jar looking for the cookie with 3 chocolate chips, instead taking the cookie on top, which most probably, only had two chips.
Humor makes bad situations more tolerable. If you've ever been in the hospital, you know the procedure. Every time a health provider does something for you or gives you something, you have to tell them your name and birthday. The ritual gets tedious. One night when asked for name and birthdate Dad responded with Henry the eighth, 1492. The provider thought he was delusional, the family thought he was hysterical.
Pay attention to avoid problems. Dad taught me if you know what "right" looks like and sounds like, then you will also know what isn't right. This is especially true with vehicles. If it didn't used to ping, then you probably should get it checked. You should also learn basic maintenance techniques. "If you are going to drive a car, you need to know how to change a tire." Or, in computer terms: If you are going to use a computer, you need to know how to run a virus scan!
Spend more to save more. Dad believed in quality. When purchasing items that would be used frequently, he would spend a little bit more and get the better quality. Not only did the tool work smoother, it also lasted longer. I've built my business on the same principle, offering quality computers at a reasonable rate.

Dad would have celebrated his 89th birthday this month. In Dad's honor, we are offering a $8.90 discount on any product or service of $89 or more. Just mention the "Dad Discount" when you check out. I know, I know… You were hoping for an 89% discount! So Sorry... Dad also taught me "Don't be Stupid!"
