There's big news in the Microsoft World:
It's official, Windows 8.x is a failure with a meager install base of 13.4% of the world’s desktop and notebook systems. These numbers are even worse than the sales Windows Vista experienced six years ago. You can see the complete story here.

Microsoft has been working feverishly on a new operating system: Windows 9, a.k.a. Threshold. At least that was the plan until recently. On September 30, Microsoft announced Windows 10.

Here are some of the changes expected to happen in 10:
-The Start Menu is back and it has extra space for live tiles
-Search is back –both on the task bar and on the start menu
-Apps no longer require full screen and can be opened in an adjustable sized window that can be positioned anywhere on the screen
-There is a new task view button and better snapping (attaching a window to the side of the screen)
-It will Snap up to 4 apps
-You can have an additional desktop, one for work and one for play.

Windows 10 is expected to be released in late 2015.

Back in February of this year, Microsoft set an "End of Sales" date for Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Ultimate. Based on their announcement, the last date we will be able to purchase Windows 7 Home Premium is October 31, 2014, just a few short weeks away. At this time, Microsoft has not set an "End of Sales" date for Windows 7 Pro.

I'm getting lots of questions concerning my MSN website says I need to upgrade my browser. MSN revamped their website end of September. It now requires IE 9 or newer to function. Windows XP can not run IE 9. If you are still using Windows XP, then your options are to replace your system with a Windows 7 system (see our competitively priced systems here) or use Firefox or Chrome as your browser of choice.
